Taiyo Kogyo has added the Heat-Shield product to its titanium dioxide fabric lineup.

Taiyo Group proudly presents the new Heat-Shield product added to its global range of titanium dioxide products. The new Heat-Shield product can now reflect infrared light effectively, adding to the products high light-shield performance.  The results from the test held at Taiyo’s Hirakata Factory from July to August 2009 confirmed that the temperature inside the test chamber was kept approximately 2 – 5℃ lower when the new Heat-Shield coating was used compared to the temperature underneath the traditional PVDF membrane roof.
Main characteristics of this Heat-Shield titanium dioxide fabric are as follows:

1. Reducing room temperature increases
•    It efficiently reflects infrared light which you feel as heat, reducing temperature increase of the fabric surface, as well as the room temperature.
2. Maintaining infrared reflecting performance
•    Because of the photocatalytic properties of the fabric dust and other contaminates do not accumulate on the fabric surface. Therefore, the heat and light shield performance can be sustained.
3. Improvement in durability
•    The membrane material is not vulnerable to UV degradation due to the heat-shield products ability to reflect UV rays. Traditional materials will break down over time due to UV exposure.
